Parking and Accessibility

There is limited parking available in front of the surgery plus metered parking on the street next to the practice. South Woodford Underground Station is only a 10-minute walk away and both the W12 and W13 buses stop close to the surgery.

Please note this practice is located within the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ).

What to do in the event of an emergency  

In the event of a veterinary emergency or if your pet is unwell out of hours, our hospitals offer your pets a dedicated emergency service, and the reassurance of knowing we are open 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. The closest hospital to our South Woodford branch is Wanstead Veterinary Hospital, which can be reached on 020 8989 7744. Adam graduated as a Veterinary Surgeon in 2003 and worked for the RSPCA before joining the practice in 2006 as a locum and becoming the vet at the South Woodford branch in 2010. Adam has a keen interest in ophthalmology and has advanced qualifications in this which complement his general practice skills. Adam is an Official Veterinarian [OV] which means that he is authorised to issue pet passports and complete export health certificates. Adam has his own rescue cat, Mr Schnitzel who he adopted after he came into one of our surgeries as a stray and now follows him everywhere! In his spare time, Adam enjoys travelling, snowboarding, music and art.

Thomas has been locuming for the Goddard Group since 2020 and joined the team at South Woodford in 2021.  Thomas studied Animal Management at Belfast Metropolitan College before moving to Texas to work in a veterinary practice as a VCA. He returned in 2016 to study a BSc(Hons) Veterinary Nursing at Harper Adams University. Thomas is interested in all aspects of nursing with a keen interest in laboratory and radiology.

Lisa is one of our longest serving team members having worked for the practice since 1985. She originally worked at the Wanstead Veterinary Hospital where she qualified as an Animal Nursing Assistant. Lisa transferred to the South Woodford surgery in 1995 and is a trusted and friendly face to our clients and their pets.

Ella joined the team at South Woodford in 2020.  She completed a Level 3 Animal Management Diploma in 2013 before going on to work both at Celia Hammond Animal Trust and the PDSA, where she gained five years clinical experience. Ella has a huge passion for all aspects of animal welfare and conservation and also has a keen interest in anaesthesia.

Philippa joined the Goddard Group in 1999 and has seen it develop and grow over the years. Originally from a veterinary equine practice, Philippa now manages ten branches in the East London area. Philippa achieved her management certificate Cert B&PS in 1999 and her Certificate Veterinary Practice Management CVPM in 2013. Philippa lives with her husband, son and her rescue cats Duncan and Sydney. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering projects, was an Olympic Games Maker in London 2012 and helps out at Saturday Park Runs. Philippa has a passion for photography and participates in many charity runs (as long as there is a medal at the end!).
